Allan John Melvin (18 February 1923 – 17 January 2008) was an American comic actor. He is best known for his roles as Sam the Butcher on The Brady Bunch and Barney Hefner on All in the Family. For Hanna-Barbera he is best known as the voice of Magilla Gorilla. His other Hanna-Barbera voice credits include:
