Barney Rubble is the secondary main character of The Flintstones and Fred Flintstone's best friend.
About Barney[]
Barney is a short blond Causacian man and he appears small unlike Fred. He wears a long brown sleeveless v-neck shirt with a single cross design and has a rip on its hem. His eyes are black with peach irises in his earlier appearances but was later given black irises on his eyes in later series and spin-offs. His live-action appearance was normally tall than his animation counterpart, his shirt now larger and had an extra two cross design.
He lives in Bedrock and with his wife Betty and adopted son Bamm-Bamm. He also has a pet hopperoo named Hoppy. His best friends are his next door neighbors Fred and Wilma Flintstone.
He and Fred spend a great deal of time together from giving each other lifts to work, bowling, golf and attending Water Buffalo Lodge meetings. He has a witty sense of humor that sometimes gets on Fred's nerves with the latter threatening to pound him if he doesn't be quiet.
Though Barney sometimes isn't very bright, often messes things up and occasionally argues with Fred, he has a heart of gold and has stuck by his bosom buddy through thick and thin. He is also a devoted husband and father to Betty and Bamm-Bamm.
