Summary[]
The Rascals try to sneak into the Dingling Bros. Circus, but are caught in the act, and are scared away. After the incident, the Rascals decide to put on their own circus, and invite some kids, charging 10 cents admission to all the kids, but let Butch and Woim in for free. Butch and Woim apparently take unfair advantage of the free admission. Meanwhile, a lion escapes from the traveling circus and wanders into the Rascals' makeshift circus, and Alfalfa has to tame a real lion, which terrified the other Rascals. Meanwhile, the owners of the traveling circus are on the streets, searching for their lion who wandered away, and later found the lion, which Alfalfa had successfully tamed despite having no experience. The Rascals are now rewarded with free tickets to the Dingling Bros. Circus for successfully finding and capturing the lion.
Notes/Trivia[]
- The Dingling Bros. Circus is a pun on the Ringling Bros./Barnum & Bailey Circus.
- The Rascals setting up a circus may be a callback to the 1939 Our Gang short "Clown Princes". A circus was also promoted in the beginning of the Our Gang short "Spooky Hooky".
- In the acrobatic scene during the Rascals' circus, Darla wears a tutu with ballet slippers. This may be a callback to the theatrical short "Rushin' Ballet". She also wore one in a scene from the 1994 movie adaptation The Little Rascals.
- When Spanky serves as a barker just before the makeshift circus starts, a piece of background music from the beginning of the Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels episode "The Creepy Claw Caper" is heard.
