Don’t Count on a Countess is the sixteenth and final episode of Josie and the Pussy Cats. It first aired 2 January 1971.
Summary[]
It seems the Pussy Cats have actually got the big gig when the gang is invited by an eccentric countess to play a private performance on her secluded Mediterranean island. But once there, they discover too late that the invitation was in reality a ruse to obtain young test subjects for her newly invented rapid aging mist. Will our heroes end up collecting Social Security at age 25?
Trivia[]
- Valerie was the only one who didn't get affected by the rapid aging mist.
- Alexander, Alexandra, Melody and Sebastian get sprayed twice with the mist but are restored to normal both times.
- While Alexandra tries to mix up an antidote it doesn't change their elderly appearance but it makes Melody smart (instead of Silly); Alexandra nice and Alexander brave!
- When Melody ears wiggle-it is a running gag the Pussy Cats are going to be in trouble.
- The plot of this episode was re-used, and also slightly altered for the Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space episode "The Hollow Planet."
- When Melody and the Cabots are volunteered for the age-accelerating mist, and Alexander suggests Alexandra to be first, he says "You always wanted to be my older sister," implying he's the older twin.
