Dr. Benedict is a character in Josie and the Pussy Cats in Outer Space.
About Benedict[]
He was a scientist and space traveler. In 1952, he embarked on a solo space voyage, eventually crash landing on the planet Cygnon. There, instead of repairing his spaceship and returning to Earth, he built his own laboratory, and created the mechanical dragon Thurgo and the Circle of Doom. He kept himself hidden from the population to protect himself from the tyrant Varan and his henchman Rugo.
Twenty years later, the Pussy Cats landed on Cygnon, where Varan captured them. After they escaped, Bleep unplugged and deactivated Thurgo. It was then that Dr. Benedict revealed himself. Just before this, Thurgo had scared Varan and Rugo into fleeing into the Forest of Darkness. When the Pussy Cats offered to bring Dr. Benedict back to Earth with them, he declined, saying that he'd rather stay on Cygnon and help the people celebrate their freedom from Varan's evil rule. He took them back to their spaceship, and told them he'd programmed it to take them directly back to Earth. After they took off, they dedicated a song to him. Once again, Alexandra threw them off course.
