Gary Owens (born Gary Bernard Altman, 10 May 1936 – 12 February 2015) was an American broadcaster and voice actor. He is best known for his work in Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In. His Hanna-Barbera roles include:

Owens also voiced an animated version of himself in a Fruity Pebbles commercial circa 2000. Owens also served as the announcer for several Hanna-Barbera Home Videos.

Career Highlights[]

Owens did other notable voice work for The Tick, he was the narrator in the adventure games Space Quest IV and 6, did the introduction to Garfield and Friends, and was Powdered Toast Man in The Ren and Stimpy Show.

Trivia[]

  • Owen Garrison's name is a play on Gary Owens. Garrison appears in Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon as a spoof of an elderly Adam West.
  • Owens substituted for Casey Kasem in the American Top 40 radio program for one weekend in September 1981. It was Owens' only time counting down the 40 hottest hit singles from Billboard magazine's "Hot 100" survey.
