Penrod "Penry" Pooch, better known as Hong Kong Phooey, is the eponymous protagonist in the animated series of the same name. He was voiced by Scatman Crothers.
About Hong Kong Phooey[]
As Penrod Pooch, he works as a police janitor with Sergeant Flint and his telephone operator Rosemary in an unnamed city. Each time he overhears the conversation between Rosemary and Sgt. Flint about a crime, Penry leaps into the bottom drawer of his filing cabinet and then, with help from his feline partner Spot, comes out of the top drawer in his superhero alter-ego. As Hong Kong Phooey, he drives in his shape-changing "Phooeymobile" vehicle and uses his martial art skills to fight crime.
His "birthday" is on May 2nd.
