John Francis "Jack" Burns (15 November 1933 – 27 January 2020) was an American comedian. On Wait till Your Father Gets Home, Burns was the voice of Ralph Kane, Harry Boyle's hyper-patriotic neighbor. He later lent his voice to a series of "Crash Test Dummies" public service spots, along with Lorenzo Music.
Burns started out in stand-up as one-half of the comedy team "Burns & Carlin" with George Carlin. After the duo broke up, Burns joined the famed Second City comedy troupe in Chicago, where he met Avery Schreiber. He and Schreiber would perform as a comedy team for several years before Burns became the head writer on the first season of The Muppet Show (1976).
