Lydia from The Gary Coleman Show

Lydia introduced in "Going, Going, Gone"

Lydia is a character in the 1982 Hanna-Barbera cartoon series The Gary Coleman Show. She appeared in sixteen segments, the most for a recurring character in the series. She was voiced by Julie McWhirter Dees.

About Lydia[]

She was a very wealthy girl who is believed to have spoken with an English accent. She is very snobbish, and tends to boast about herself and is obsessed with her looks and also getting famous.

It is implied that she has no boyfriend in the series, though Bartholomew supposedly has a crush on her, but she has no interest in dating him - implying that she has no interest in romance at her age in the series.

Trivia[]

  • Lydia appeared in at least one segment of every episode except the finale.
  • Lydia may have been modeled and named after actress Lydia Cornell, as the latter is also a blonde. However, the character had shorter hair than Cornell did, possibly to avoid privacy issues.
