Mac and Molly Mange, a pair of feline mobsters, were sentenced to life in Alkatraz Prison. They escaped late one night, but a ship collided with their boat, destroying their bodies. They washed up on the shore, apparently dead, but a pair of robots brought them into Professor Hackle's laboratory, where he transferred their life forces into robots. Now calling themselves Metallikats, they returned to MegaKat City to wreak vengeance on Mayor Manx for denying them parole. However, Deputy Mayor Callie Briggs revealed she was the one who denied their parole. The Swat Kats temporarily defeated them, and Professor Hackle reclaimed them. They became recurring villains, and even joined forces with other villains like Dr. Viper.
