Metallus is a character in Space Ghost and Space Ghost Coast to Coast. He was voiced by Ted Cassidy in the original cartoon.
About Metallus[]
Metallus is a member of the Council of Doom. He was a big metallic creature wearing a purple vest and blue gloves, and he has a helmet adorned with large, presumably ornamental wings. The helmet was also his head as whenever somebody took it off, there was nothing inside.
He was a space conqueror who led an army of killer robots.
In Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Metallus spoke in a reverb-heavy metallic drone, rendering his every word incomprehensible, though other characters seem to understand him. Like most members of the Council of Doom, he disappeared in the later seasons. It was later explained in an in-character audio commentary for the Season Three episode "Surprise" that Metallus died. This is later contradicted when Metallus returned in the GameTap episode "Stephen", where he is alive and well.
In the 2012 incarnation of Cartoon Planet, Metallus is mentioned in a May 25, 2012 skit alongside Creature King as one of Zorak's party members in a MMO game.
Metallus appeared in the Jellystone! episode "Spy Thriller" in where he plays a double agent in the Secret Squirrel film franchise.
