Never Mind a Master Mind is the eighth episode of Josie and the Pussy Cats. It first aired on October 31, 1970 on CBS.
Summary[]
In Holland, Melody is mistaken for a secret agent and receives purple wooden clogs that contain a microfilm detailing a mission. A master of disguise known as faceless Arch criminal "Master Mind" intends to steal an anti-gravity device from a scientists' symposium. When Melody, Alexandra, and Alexander make an escape, Master Mind, disguised as Alan, lures them into a trap. It's up to Josie, Alan, and Valerie to rescue them and stop Master Mind.
Trivia[]
- The episode is a nod to the spy genre. "Agent 008" is a reference to Agent 007, James Bond. The "old shoe contact trick" is a reference to Get Smart. The tape recorder is a reference to Mission: Impossible.
- Melody's line, "Don't bake tonight. Call Pie Delight" is a reference to the fast food chain Chicken Delight, whose slogan was "Don't cook tonight. Call Chicken Delight."
- Contrary to her usual comic relief role, Alexandra uses the anti-gravity ray gun to save her friends from Master Mind.
- By coincidence in a 1938 story Dick Tracy fights "The Blank" aka Frank Redrum [a disfigured criminal who wears a mask].
- Alan introduces himself as Alexander Graham Cracker, and Josie as Madame Curious. These are spoofs of Alexander Graham Bell and Madame Curie, respectively. It is unknown what Alexandra's name, Butera Honey Pie, is a parody of.
