Princess Esmeralda is a character in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo.

She was a princess who ruled Denmark in 1985. When Maldor the Malevolent took over her castle, and demanded that she hand over the Wonder Wand of Zagras, she refused, and he subjected her to the Sleep of the Centuries, later doing the same with Daphne Blake.
Later, the wizard Zagras told the gang that the only way the princess and Daphne could be awakened from the spell was to be kissed by a great Danish prince. Scooby-Doo, being a Great Dane, donned royal garb, and revived both victims by licking them. But when Princess Esmeralda removed her veil, she turned out to be not a human, but a lovesick Great Dane who saw Scooby as her handsome prince, and began chasing him.
