About Skip[]

Skip has simple black eyes and bright ginger hair. In terms of his outfit, he's most often depicted in a brown collared shirt with a lime-green vest, with tan pants and red and white sneakers. When he appeared in the Scooby-Doo & Guess Who? episode "A Mystery-Solving Gang Divided", his shirt was red and his vest was yellow. While some may headcanon such, it is not established in canon or official material whether or not "Skip" is a nickname (most likely short for Skipper), unlike in Augie's case where his name is consistently framed in quotes in model sheets and promotional material.

He is Augie's "rival" as well as being one of his, Mudsy, and April's best friends. Skip is intelligent (specifically scientifically, with his achievements in chemistry being brought up offhandedly in the comics) and is the usual driver of the group with the Looney Duney being stated in the comics to be his car. Most often, his curiosity and determination is what drives him to initiate investigations, such as in "We Saw a Sea Serpent", and true to this aspect of him he is portrayed as absorbent of the knowledge he gains. While he is generally mild-mannered he can also be fairly short-tempered and snarky with Augie in particular, but also Elmo and Mudsy at times. He is the member of the trio with the least amount of canon information surrounding living-situation or relatives where April has her Uncle Henry and Augie his garage both in "Who's Chicken?". Additionally, while he is presented as logical, it is implied in "The Forest's Prime Evil" that he believes in the existence of cryptids or, at least, Bigfoot.

Skip often clashes with Augie due to their opposing personalities (Brains and brawn respectively) and occasionally over April's attention - albeit deep down they truly care about each other, remain close friends, and can work together effectively whether that's in the context of solving cases, football, or the occasional pranking Mudsy in the comics. Skip has the most screen time with Mudsy out of the trio as they most often split up together by Augie, and shenanigans are bound to ensue - Skip seems to take highest responsibility for teaching Mudsy modern day things such as driving and surfing. Disregarding any romantic feelings, Skip's relationship with April is one of mutual respect, though April is also shown to enjoy messing with him on occasion. Both he and Augie are players on Central High's football team as shown in "Pigskin Predicament" - specifically, Skip is the team's quarterback - however, he is seemingly not overly fond of sports overall as his reaction to Augie hoping to win tickets to the Superbowl over a flight to Paris in the vinyl episode "April in Paris" suggests.
