Smurfette is the first of the few female Smurfs. Lucille Bliss provided the voice of Smurfette throughout the entire cartoon series.
About Smurfette[]
She was originally one of Gargamel's creations, designed to destroy the Smurfs' hearts. Smurfette later then felt guilty for her actions, Papa Smurf decided to turn Smurfette into a real Smurf with magic, and she has become a important member of the village.
Smurfette is always there to help and would often defend someone from being made fun of or from shaming said friend for making poor decisions. Most of the time, she would call out the other Smurfs for their foolish behavior. Sometimes, she can be just as foolish as the other Smurfs. She became friends with certain mythical creatures and humans, such as Princess Sabina and Blue Eyes the Horse.
In Season 5, she tried to get the Wartmongers to stop bowing, to which they instead curtsied. And at one point, she had a flower named Petaluma who is being mean and nasty to her. But following the passing of the flower, Smurfette decided to take care of her children in her memory.
At the end of the series, she remains one of the seventeen Smurfs to travel through time. She became a jockey and tamed a horse when the other Smurfs couldn't. When she got a green thumb, she chose Brainy to disguise as a flower and get the cure from the other flowers.
Trivia[]
- In the original comic story of her debut, she wasn't evil, but a blabbermouth. After her change through plastic smurfery, she was accused for being a creation of Gargamel's. In the cartoon show, she was originally an evil accomplice to Gargamel's plans (before she became good).
