Snooper and Blabber

Snooper and Blabber is a segment from The Quick Draw McGraw Show. Snooper and Blabber form a pair of cat and mouse detectives; both characters have appeared in other Hanna-Barbera cartoons, including Laff-a-Lympics, Yogi's Gang, Yogi's Treasure Hunt and Yo Yogi!; it should be noted that this was one of the rare shows where a cat and mouse were teamed together, yet were in no way enemies.

Super Snooper (voiced by Daws Butler impersonating Ed Gardner’s Archie from the 1940's radio show Duffy's Tavern) is more or less the one in command whenever the pair takes a case, while Blabber Mouse (the mouse with a lisp, also voiced by Butler) follows whatever orders are given to him.

Some of the pair's cartoons featured early versions of other Hanna-Barbera characters, such as Snagglepuss and Hardy Har Har.

In Jellystone!, Snooper is a girl.

  • Snooper and Blabber Detectives (Gold Key)

Gold Key Comics published a limited three-issue series in 1962 titled "Snooper and Blabber Detectives," inspired by the popular segments from Hanna-Barbera's animated series, "The Quick Draw McGraw Show." This comic series, featuring special guest appearances by Snagglepuss and Top Cat, breathed new life into the adventures of Snooper and Blabber.

  • During the mid-1960s, Snooper and Blabber headlined two LP albums released by Hanna-Barbera Records.
  • Snooper and Blabber made a cameo in the 2007 episode of "Robot Chicken" titled "Ban on the Fun". In the skit "Laff-A-Munich", they confront the Great Fondoo, who has the groceries after the Really Rottens wreak havoc by killing most of the Yogi Yahooeys. Snooper poses a question to Fondoo, "Do you know why we're here?" Fondoo, taken aback, questions his own presence, asserting that he's a minor character and Hanna-Barbera has a plethora of other villains for the Really Rottens. The skit ends with Snooper and Blabber abruptly dispatching Fondoo.
