Sta-Lak is a character in The Herculoids.
About Sta-Lak[]
He first appeared in the episode "The Raiders", when, after turning his ship invisible to fool Zandor and Zok, he and a few sentient talking robots took Tara as a hostage as part of his plot to plunder the riches of Amzot. Gloop damaged his ship, so he landed in a nearby canyon by the white cliffs, and ordered the robots to repair the craft. Zandor, Dorno, and the Herculoids eventually rescued Tara, and Sta-Lak took off once the ship was fixed. He tried to destroy Zandor and Zok with a megablast, but they got out of harm's way just in time. The ship crashed, and the Herculoids thought their enemies had been destroyed. Tara asked why people do such things, and Zandor replied that he didn't know, but that with creatures like Sta-Lak, what they have is worth protecting.
Sta-Lak returned in "The Return of Sta-Lak". He used robot duplicates of Zok, Igoo, and Tundro to capture Tara and Dorno. Zandor and the Herculoids agreed to fight the duplicates. While Igoo destroyed his own duplicate, the robot Zok was destroyed by Tundro, and the robot Tundro by Zok. Tara and Dorno were freed, and Sta-Lak escaped, stating that he had a way out and someday a way back. Despite his threat to come back, he was never seen again after this episode.
It was never explained how Zandor and his family knew Sta-Lak's name, since Sta-Lak was unnamed in his first appearance.
