The B-52s are a well known American new wave group.

They were formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1976, and consisted of Fred Schneider, Cindy Wilson, Kate Pierson, Ricky Wilson, and Keith Strickland. They are best known for the songs "Rock Lobster", "Love Shack", and "Roam".

In 1994, under the name The BC-52s, they recorded their own version of "Meet the Flintstones" for the hit 1994 live-action movie. It became a hit on Billboard's Hot 100, making it the only version of the theme song to become a Top 40 hit.

For the final season of The New Adventures of Captain Planet, the band's frontman, Fred Schneider, performed a rap as the new theme song. It was lip-synced by a pair of green animated lips. He also voiced Danny Dazzleduff in the episode "Greed Is the Word".

In 2001, they sang their own version of "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" for the direct-to-video movie Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase.

The band's song "Love Shack" was included as track 12 in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed soundtrack release, despite not being in the film.
