The Queen Mother is a character from the CBS Storybreak episode "Witch-Cat".
About The Queen Mother[]
The Queen Mother is a cat of a magical breed known as the familiar. She is plump with white fur, has parted hair, black eyes with lavender sclerae, and a bushy tail. She wears a medium orchid cape and a gold collar necklace with five gems embedded, the first four above a bigger gem. The first and last gems in that row are rubies; the two others in the middle are sapphires, as is the larger gem beneath that row. Although another scene with her shows her necklace has only one gem, a sapphire. So she may possibly have more than one necklace.
The Queen Mother is the leader and ruler of witch cats, and she is in charge of assigning them to the witches who become their owners, and pair up with them to use magical powers. She is seated on a floating, large book, while a candle is also floating. With her finger snap, another, smaller book and a pair of reading glasses magically appear. While looking through it, two other witch cats named Rosetta and Griselda enchantingly appear. With another finger snap, the Queen Mother makes the smaller book and reading glasses disappear. Having been summoned, Rosetta asks the Queen Mother whether she mentioned that she had an assignment for her. The Queen Mother tells her yes, and it's about a pre-teen girl named Gwen Markham. As the Queen Mother mentions this, sparkles appear in her eyes and there's a headshot of Gwen. The Queen Mother tells Rosetta that Gwen is the first witch of the century and that she is to become Rosetta's new owner. Rosetta asks whether Gwen knows about her destiny as a witch, and the Queen Mother replies "no". The Queen Mother tells Rosetta that once she's outside of the walls of a castle and the realm where witch cats are, her magic will no longer be effective, that is, except on Halloween, and that her powers will be transferred to Gwen. Rosetta's goal is to show her how to use magic and do so wisely. The Queen Mother asks Griselda to have Rosetta sent through the Well of Witches, so that Rosetta can then be transported to the town where Gwen lives, and Griselda obliges.
The Queen Mother appears again when Rosetta returns to the castle to report that she failed to get Gwen to realize that all the magical occurrences were done by her. The Queen Mother tells Rosetta that there's nothing any of them can do. She says that the effort was noble, but that Rosetta may have to be replaced as Gwen's new pet cat and that some other cats may have to give it a try. Rosetta wonders whether she may possibly never see Gwen again. The Queen Mother replies that that's up to Gwen, as her magic is the only thing that can bring Rosetta back to her. Having become attached to her new owner, Rosetta gets teary-eyed at that possibility.
