The Schemer, also known as Roy "Butchy" Toughington is a villain who appeared in Space Ghost and The Brak Show. He comes up with a lot of schemes. He was voiced by Don Messick in Space Ghost and George Lowe in The Brak Show.
The Schemer was mentioned in the Cartoon Planet episode "Where's the Beach?" He had a few appearances in the Space Ghost Coast to Coast comic stories. In two of the issues, he was paired with The Evil Collector. He was also part of the Council of Doom's softball team in the final comic story Spacey At the Bat.
Butchy Toughington, a teenage bully appears in The Brak Show episode "Bully". He is a bully who beats up Zorak. His bullying was so bad that Brak's Mom had to step in to stop it. For years, it was unclear whether he was supposed to be a teenage version of The Schemer, or somebody who happened to be part of the same species as him. It wasn't until a 2024 interview with Andy Merrill that he confirmed that Butchy is supposed to be the series' version of The Schemer.[1]
