Top Cat (or T.C.), was the main character in the prime-time animated situation comedy Top Cat, which ran for 30 episodes from 1961 to 1962 on ABC, later airing in Saturday-morning reruns on NBC and (later) in syndication and on Cartoon Network. He was voiced by Arnold Stang in the style of comedian Phil Silvers.

His "birthday" is May 29th.

In Jellystone!, his voice is less of an imitation of Phil Silvers and has ironically more of a Southern accent. This is due to Thomas Lennon using his natural speaking voice.

Biography[]

Top Cat is the leader of a gang of alley cats in Hoagy's Alley. He is a yellow-furred alley cat whose main attire is his purple pork pie hat and matching Tyrian vest.

T.C. is a con cat who makes his living by being somewhat lazy, clever and very funny. He often steals others' ideas and tricks his gang and Officer Dibble, using schemes to make his feline life more comfortable. Often however these schemes backfire.

In Yogi's Treasure Hunt, he is the leader of the titular team of treasure hunters, working for the President of the United States.

In Top Cat: the Movie (2011), T.C. meets his new love interest: a female cat by the name of Trixie.

Personality[]

He does respect the gang, but takes advantage of others' naivete. Even though he seems selfish, lazy and conniving, T.C. is loyal to the gang and will come to their assistance if necessary.
